The right SD card for the drone

For the drone to record at all and in a quality you can edit effectively (so you can slow down 30-60 fps footage, crop without losing detail), the right card for the job is essential.

dji state it has to be a fast read write type, like SanDisk’s Extreme PLUS. Look for the symbol of the 3 in a cup on it.

I’d avoid bigger than a 128GB card, and carry a spare one of the same capacity. The reason is you’re less likely to empty a higher capacity card to your PC regularly, and if the drone lands up in the sea you’d have lost a lot. Save regularly to a portable DS drive.

Another tip is to stop the video say every 10 minutes. That makes the clips smaller, lighter to edit and it’s easier to find the good footage on them
